Blue Harbor Resort Sheboygan Wedding | Dani & Mike

Dani & Mike had such a beautiful Sunday brunch wedding in May. The day before their wedding it had rained literally all. day. long….so the morning of, when I arrived at The Blue Harbor Resort and it was looking pretty dreary, I was worried that the rain might not let up! Thankfully the fog rolled out shortly afterwards and the beautiful blue sky made it’s appearance just in time! Dani was so excited to get into her gorgeous dress!  When she finally had her veil in place and got her bouquet into her hands she even did a happy little dance 🙂

Dani & Mike did a “first look”, and then enjoyed a few quiet moments on the balcony together, taking it all in. With the view of Lake Michigan in front of them, and the impressive façade of The Blue Harbor resort behind them, guests took their seats and waited for the ceremony to begin. It’s really not hard to see why Dani & Mike chose Blue Harbor Resort right?! “We knew we wanted [a venue] close to where I grew up, but that would be more modern and accessible to our family members coming from out of the state than the venues in the small town that I’m from. From the moment we turned the corner driving to Blue Harbor Resort and saw its beautiful façade, we knew it was the one.” ~Dani

After their ceremony and family and wedding party photographs, the newlyweds finally had a moment alone together, which is scarce on a wedding day! We were able to capture some romantic shots of them together, including a beautiful floating veil shot! Then Dani traded in her cathedral length veil for a jeweled flower crown, and joined their guests in the reception space which had a beautiful view of the lakefront, and tons of natural light (a photographers dream)! It was so much fun to watch Dani & Mike dance with their family and friends!

Some advice for couples planning their own wedding? Dani says: “Start early. No matter how focused or decisive you are, you will eventually come to a point in your wedding planning where you’ll go, “Shoot, I didn’t think of that,” and you may need to rethink a part of your wedding day, or make a last minute decision. You *will* make changes to your original plan, and that’s okay. Trust your instincts when it comes time to make the tough decisions, and you won’t regret them.”
