Kettle Moraine Forest Engagement Pictures - Holly & Joel

Holly and Joel are like a lot of the couples that hire me to photograph their engagement and wedding photos – they wanted natural, relaxed, candid, fun photographs to document this exciting time in their relationship.  I love capturing these genuine kinds of moments during engagement sessions – its sort of like going on an adventure with good friends, and photographing all the fun we had along the way!

When I asked if they had thought about any locations for the session, Holly mentioned one of the trails in the Kettle Moraine Forest that she loved to hike.  It sounded beautiful as she described it, so of course I thought it was a great idea to start there!  Turns out (and I didn’t know this until we met up for their session) – it is one of our favorite spots for hiking too! It’s so refreshing to get out into the woods and enjoying all of the beauty the Kettle Moraine has to offer.  And it was awesome to spend time photographing Holly & Joel in all of these familiar spots that they enjoy too 🙂

After playing in the woods for a bit, we headed over to nearby Long Lake. The fishing pier emptied for about 10 minutes, and the weather gods cooperated with some spectacular clouds and a sunset glow that had me in photographer heaven!
